The Song I’m Singing

I’m cleaning today.

I know.  It’s terribly exciting, isn’t it?

Anyway, I just haven’t had any idea what to write in this blog for awhile now.  But today while I was cleaning, a song popped into my head.  It’s called Because He Lives. I thought it was worth sharing.

The chorus goes like this:

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
My live is worth the living just because He lives!

One thing is clear, there is much uncertainty in this life.  Our own family tragedy has been followed by watching several friends suffer disappointments.  It is enough to make one to wonder if the journey is worth it.

Personally, I wonder sometimes how I’ll ever manage to bring up these three beautiful children on my own.  But I am thankful for the gentle reassurance from the Holy Spirit that I am not alone.  Sometimes it comes as a Scripture verse to my mind (Heb. 13:5b).  Sometimes as encouraging words from a friend, and sometimes in the form of a song.

And so today I’m singing.

The old hymns are the best - so much meaning and often forgotten in today's church.

I'm cleaning today, also. I have Zubeo downloading my favorite Christian radio programs to my MP3 and am listening to them while I clean. It's very uplifting and kind of like cleaning me up, besides the house!

Your song makes me smile, as that's the one that helped me so much when my mother died at age 50 in a car accident. God truly can speak to us through music! Glad to hear from you; I've been praying you you, Dear!

A song in your heart whilst cleaning is a blessed thing to write about!
Thank you for sharing the joy of your walk with Christ as well as the sorrows along the way.
The beauty of living in Christ is that we are never alone.
When I took my mother for radiation treatments, there was a long time spent in the waiting room. Every day a little black woman was wheeled in and left there until the nurse could see to her. Her voice was cracked and she tried to sing quietly, but the song she sang as she sat there waiting was-" No, never alone. He promised never to leave me- never to leave me alone." The room brightened up, the burdens always seemed a little lighter after she sang.

I love that song too and found Christian music can be very healing and uplifting. After our son died I copied various Christian songs and hymns to a tape and played them over and over because they really spoke to my heart....kind of like God whispering words of comfort in my ear.

Keep singing......Janice

I love that beautiful song and you know that is the only way any of us can make it, Because He Lives!

Praying for you and your family!

Beautiful song! Yes, He lives! That is why we worship Him for He is the Almighty who is greater than any condition or loneliness we may suffer. Let us love Him for who He is and we will have the love of God for sure!

Adrienne: I admire your faith and your spirit and your sense of humor. Of course, your beautiful children will grow up and will do fine--you are already doing that good job. And they will have the anchor of faith you are teaching them by living in each extraordinary moment.
Go God. You rock.

I love that song, too. I am thankful for God's involvement in my life. His love will see us through, as you already know and have experienced.

Wow Adrienne, talk about a God thing. Such a beautiful post - I have been remiss in visiting many blogs of late - and struggling to keep up with my own - as I have been obsessed with family genealogy.

I was so happy to see you had stopped by and wanted to tell you, and then I read this post.

I am in tears as I sit here this morning. World events, learning their will be at least 20 layoffs this year in my school district (could be me), my sister's father-in-law died last night - and I know the pain they will endure, very bad news with our taxes this year, it seems we are on a downward spiral - and sinking fast. It is so easy to get caught up in the mire and the muck - when everything around seems to be depressing - and yet - how right you are.

I CAN face tomorrow - because no matter what happens here ... HE LIVES - Because He does hold
the future. He is in control. HE has already won the battle. I will ready myself for work this morning singing that song in my heart! Thank you!
