Psalm 116:1-2 reads: “I love the Lord because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.”
He hath inclined his ear unto me…
I have this mental picture in my head of a little girl sitting on her daddy’s lap. She wants to tell him something really important, but doesn’t really want everyone in the room to hear it. And so he leans down close so that she can whisper it in his ear.
God leans down to hear our prayers.

I love your imagery- I have always felt the same way about this psalm! I used to read the scripture in my daddy's lap and I definitely know this feeling.
There is something so heartwarming and dear knowing that God wants to be so very intimate with us- close enough that we can whisper in His ear.
May you know the blessing of that intimacy today, Adrienne and feel His loving arms around you.
What a beautiful image, Adrienne. I LOVE that.. and I will keep that in my mind when I pray. Sometimes, I want to just cry out to Him, to shout out loud. But there are times when I need to be intimate; when what I'm sharing with Him is for His ears only. To imagine Him leaning down to put His ear right next to my mouth so that He can hear every word... just precious. Hugs to you.. I'm so glad we're Facebook friends, cause I saw this update there! :<)
Very good description of that verse. Thank you for sharing. It's so good to know he leans down to hear us and that we can lean on Him for the strength we need.
Blessings!
I love that verse also, Adrienne.... I can just picture God leaning down and scooping us up in his arms and loving us unconditionally.
Great scripture... Hang onto it with all of your heart...
How's Jeff?
Hugs,
Betsy
perfect visual! I love the photo and the quote at the top of your blog. I'm sharing the link with friends, because it is perfect for us just now.
Your visualization of God listening to our prayers is wonderful and has to be a comfort to you as you go through the days!

You are right. He does lean toward us, and wants to hear what we have to say. He longs for us to be in communication with Him. I am so thankful I am one of God's children through faith in Jesus.
I think God might be whispering back too.
Praying so much. I wish there was something more to do.
